Enhancing the Peer Provider Workforce: Recruitment, Supervision and Retention
This Assessment Guide has been produced by the National Association of Consumer/Survivors Mental Health Administrators, state mental health department senior managers committed to expanding the participation of consumers/survivors in all aspects of the public mental health system. This guidance is intended to increase the successful capacity of the peer provider workforce within behavioral health systems and authorities through recruitment and hiring, and supervision and retention efforts. It builds on the larger policy and practice work of a recovery-oriented and evidenced-based mental health model of care for recipients of mental health services. Funding for this project has been provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
