Thriving Through the Holidays - Virtual Discussion & Workshop

12/15/2021 - 12/15/2021

Please join us for an informal workshop led by two of our peer consultant experts to discuss effectively handling the holidays. This session is designed to be interactive, so there will be time for guided discussion. The participants will be asked to share their professional and personal holiday experiences. Upon the completion of this workshop, the participants will be able to:

> Describe some practices found to be effective in assuring utilization of services offered
during the holidays;
> List effective tools and practices that assist clients with handling stressors and stressful
situations during the holidays;
> Describe selfcare techniques found to be effective for practitioners during the holidays.

The Peer Recovery Center of Excellence (PR CoE) recently received SAMHSA funding to provide training and technical assistance to support Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) grantees focused on integrating peer recovery support services into their HIV prevention and treatment approaches. In order to address these needs, the project will:

Solicit input from grantees and key stakeholders;
Provide proactive training and technical assistance;
Respond to requests for customized TA from individual MAI grantees.

The Peer Recovery CoE works with a peer-led steering committee to address four primary focus areas: Clinical Integration of Peers into Non-Traditional Settings, Recovery Community Organization Capacity Building, Peer Workforce Development, and Evidence-Based Practice & Practice-Based Evidence Dissemination. Training and events center around these focal points.

The Peer Recovery CoE is opening up this event to anyone involved in the peer recovery community.
