Nell Hurley

Nell Hurley has worked in the addiction recovery field since 2010, as the executive director of Minnesota Recovery Connection, as a national executive director at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, and as a national director at The Phoenix. In 2020, Nell Hurley launched Hurley Health, which combines fitness and recovery coaching to help people overcome substance use challenges. Nell Hurley’s areas of expertise include developing Recovery Community Organizations, promoting peer-based recovery support, and making recovery visible and accessible to all. Hurley’s passions include recovery advocacy, reducing stigma, fitness, supporting long-term recovery. Nell Hurley has two master’s degrees, one in English Literature and one in business with a focus on nonprofit management. She also holds certifications in several fitness modalities including yoga, CrossFit, and personal training. Nell Hurley lives in St. Paul, Minnesota with her husband and son.
