We will be holding this session as open space for participants to share their experiences with evaluation and research. Folks will be able to discuss successes, challenges, and network with other participants. We will also use this time to discuss how the Learning Exchange is going and if there are any pieces that folks would like to modify in the future.
Meet Our Presenters:
Michael T. Lane, Division Director of Recovery Services, and Director of Peer Support with the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB), Virginia’s largest local public Behavioral Health entity. Peer Recovery Services are delivered by over 80 peers across 20+ programs. Since 2022, they've collaborated with researchers from George Mason University to develop and implement outcomes and process evaluation.
Rita Romero & Jennifer Schultz De La Rosa, PhD, Rita Romero is a Training Coordinator, Peer, and Family Support Specialist at the Workforce Development Program (WDP) at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. Jennifer Schultz De La Rosa, PhD is an Assistant Research Professor at the Department of Family and Community Medicine, College of Medicine – Tucson. She also directs strategy at the University of Arizona Health Sciences' Comprehensive Center for Pain & Addiction (CCPA). Together, they collaborate on HRSA-funded certification training and apprenticeship programs – PeerWORKS and Project FUTRE, evaluating these programs to support continual learning and improvement. Their commitment to recovery-oriented, strengths-based practices highlights the value of lived experience.
Phil Owen, Program Manager at Communities for Recovery in Austin, TX, currently managing 11 programs with varying funder requirements and outcome expectations. Phil's work focuses on meeting the needs of the people they serve while producing relevant outcomes, a challenging but vital task.
