Our Products

The Peer Recovery Center of Excellence exists to enhance the field of peer recovery support services. Led by those with lived experience, peer voice is at the core of our work and guides our mission. Peers—people in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD) or substance use challenges—serve a valuable role in helping persons with substance use challenges in achieving and maintaining long-term recovery. We are here to offer help from those who have done this work to those wanting to enhance or begin peer support services in their communities! Below is a library of reports, toolkits, previous trainings, and other products we have created for the field.

We are still in the midst of uploading the recordings of our previous trainings onto this page. If you're not finding what you are looking for here, check out our Vimeo page.

If you would like to check out other resources from the field, please see our Resource Library.

The Peer Recovery Center of Excellence collaborated with the Prevention Technology Transfer Center to host three webinars around the intersection of prevention and recovery. These webinars were followed with a two-part series on the intersection of harm reduction, prevention and recovery. Please find the recordings, presentation slides and related resources below. The first two webinars in the series, The Intersection of Prevention & Recovery, Parts I & II, were designed to inform and raise awareness of prevention and recovery community professionals about the intersection between SUD prevention and recovery approaches. This series demonstrated how the fields of prevention and recovery share common goals and explore ways professionals can collaborate and coordinate activities that work toward improving community health and wellness. The Intersection of Prevention & Recovery, Parts I & II The first two webinars in the series, The Intersection of Prevention & Recovery, Parts I & II, were designed to inform and raise awareness of prevention and recovery community professionals about the intersection between SUD prevention and recovery approaches. This series demonstrated how the fields of prevention and recovery share common goals and explore ways professionals can collaborate and coordinate activities that work toward improving community health and wellness. Where Prevention and Recovery are Working The follow up to the previous webinars focused on Where Prevention and Recovery are Working. Our panelists drew from the experiences of multiple recovery and prevention communities and provided models of successful community-based programs working within the intersection of prevention and recovery. The goal for the panel was not to provide a set of complete solutions, but rather to stimulate discussion, highlight practical approaches to advancing community resilience and collaboration that are applicable to many communities across the nation. The Intersection of Harm Reduction, Prevention & Recovery Parts I & II The final two webinars in this series, The Intersection of Harm Reduction, Prevention & Recovery Parts I & II, illustrated the common goals within the fields of prevention, recovery, and harm reduction such as: reducing the adverse health and social consequences of chaotic substance use, demonstrate the multiple points of intervention across the spectrum of substance use, and how to develop coordinated strategies at individual and community levels to address chaotic substance use. The panelists took a close look at how race and social determinants of health influence the frequency, access, and type of services provided to diverse populations. Learning Lab Toolkit and PPT Template This toolkit and PPT template are companion products for the Intersection of Harm Reduction, Prevention, and Recovery webinar series. The Peer Recovery Center of Excellence in collaboration with the Prevention Technology Transfer Center Network, developed a companion product for the webinar series the Intersection of Harm Reduction, Prevention, and Recovery. This companion product can be facilitated by any interested organization or community that would like to create action steps toward breaking down silos and nurturing relationships between the fields of harm reduction, prevention, and recovery. After viewing the Intersection of Harm Reduction, Prevention, and Recovery webinars, the Learning Community Toolkit walks you through the process of developing a series of Learning Labs (facilitated virtually) from start to finish. The toolkit includes facilitators agenda, participant application process, screening applications, sample timelines and email templates, and PowerPoint template slides. If you have any questions about the toolkit, please reach out to Kris Kelly, kris.kelly@wisc.edu.

Explainer Videos

The Peer Recovery Center of Excellence is excited to share this series of explainer videos on topics that are foundational to the recovery community; Recovery Community Organizations, Peer Support, Recovery Capital, and Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care. These concepts are familiar to the recovery community, but difficult to convey to the general, broader population in a succinct way. We are grateful to the PR CoE steering committee and peers partners for their input and support in the development of this series.

We hope that you use these videos to communicate core elements of your services, messaging, and marketing. They are a free resource, and do not require permission to use them; embed them in a presentation, in your newsletter, on your website, on your social media or email them directly to your audience. Our hope is to create dialogue on all these very important elements of the recovery community.
